2022 AAOM Annual Conference Call for AbstractsSubmit your research to present at the conferenceThe American Academy of Oral Medicine would like to invite abstracts for oral and poster presentations at the annual meeting in May 2022. The abstracts must not be published time of submission. Relevant abstracts previously presented within the last 12 months at other conferences, and not yet published, are eligible for submission. The Abstracts Committee for this meeting will select abstracts for poster and oral presentations. Those accepted for oral presentation will be published in the Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology and Oral Radiology journal.

If accepted, the presenting author is required to register for the meeting and be present during the scheduled poster/oral sessions. Abstracts are accepted contingent that the presenting author register and present the abstract at the annual meeting. An abstract without a registered presenter by the registration deadline will be withdrawn and will be ineligible for publication in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology and Oral Radiology Journal. All abstracts must be submitted under one of the three categories. Please pay extra attention to which category you are submitting. Submission to a wrong category may result in withdrawal of the abstract. Abstracts for OI and CR are limited to a maximum of 350 words. Abstracts for LBMA are limited to a maximum of 750 words. Tables and figures are not allowed. There is a specific abstract format in each category. Any submission not following the format may be withdrawn from consideration. Lester Burket Memorial Award
AwardsLester Burket Memorial Award The Lester Burket Memorial Award (LBMA) was created to honor the memory of Dr. Lester Burket to promote basic and clinical research in oral medicine. Only researches conducted by residents/fellows of accredited US and Canadian Oral Medicine training programs are eligible. Graduates of the Oral Medicine Programs are eligible to submit their abstracts as long as the research was initiated during their residency. There is NO maximum of entrant per program. The abstracts should represent significant thesis-level research. Maximum two awards per year are given. Award recipients will be notified by February 21, 2022. Awardees will give a 20 minute oral presentation at the 2022 AAOM meeting. Awardees will receive $1,500, a one-year membership in the AAOM, and the meeting registration fee will be waived for recipients. Robert and Kay Schattner Award A student, resident or fellow presenting oral abstract at the meeting will be eligible for The Robert and Kay Schattner Award for the best oral presentation of an original investigation abstract. Judging for this award will take place during the meeting. Case Report Awards The five best case reports submitted by students/residents/fellows will be selected to give an 8- minute oral case presentation at the 2022 AAOM meeting and will receive a small monetary award. Judging will be based on the quality, clarity, and clinical significance of the abstract submission. Award recipients will be notified by February 21, 2022. |
